Spencer Orthopedics specializes in treating traumatic injuries and fractures. We guide our patients through the process from initial assessment to treatment options and recovery management. We have all the resources and advanced equipment to deal with basic to complex fracture surgeries.
Our body is designed to protect and heal itself. That is why your body will react to a fracture by forming bone cells around the fracture line that grow towards each other to close the fracture. Fracture care is there to help manage this process in the best way possible, considering all factors that will influence healing.
Types of Fracture Care
The treatment plan will always be individualized since it's dependent on the particular fracture alongside the patient's current health. The orthopedic specialist will consider treatments that will put the bone back together, manage pain, allow time for recovery, and will prevent future complications.
Our team specializes in the following treatments for Fracture Care
- Broken bones, simple and complex
- Fractures resulting from osteoporosis
- Geriatric Fractures
- Fractures relating to the joint surface of the shoulder, knee, elbow, and ankle Nonunion (failing to heal) and malunion (healing with deformity) fractures.
Medical Therapy and Surgical Intervention
Early intervention includes the management of bleeding, prevention of bone death, and the removal of sources of infection. Next, a non-operative treatment method or surgery will be considered, based on each individual case. 'Closed' therapy will include casting to immobilize the body part, or either skin or skeletal traction.

You can rest assured, that no matter the complexity of your injury, we'll work together to find a solution through medical or surgical intervention. Our team truly cares about each individual and their recovery process.
